Our Trusted Laboratory Partners at Morgan Hill Animal Hospital

Some mysteries require detective work beyond the scope of the microscope. When your pet needs specialized testing, we connect you with California’s leading veterinary diagnostic expertswithout the runaround.

Advanced Testing, Simplified Process

Your pet’s lump needs a biopsy. That stubborn ear infection won’t respond to treatment. Or maybe routine blood work revealed something unusual that needs a specialist’s eye. While our in-house lab handles 90% of diagnostic needs instantly, some cases demand the forensic-level analysis only reference laboratories can provide.

Here’s the difference: You still work with the veterinary team you trust. We handle the complexity so you can focus on your pet.

When a test needs a specialist lab, we handle the logistics

When do you send work to an outside lab?

Most routine bloodwork, urinalysis, and fecal tests run in our hospital. We use reference labs for work that needs a specialist eye, such as biopsies, some cultures, and other advanced panels.

Do I have to deal with another clinic?

No. You stay with our team. We collect the sample, send it, track it, and call you when results are in.

How long do those results take?

In-house results are usually the same visit. Reference-lab tests typically come back in a few days. We call as soon as they arrive.

How does this fit with our in-house lab?

In-house testing is for speed on common questions. Outside labs add depth when the first results need a closer look. You get a written estimate before we send specialized tests.

What happens at this visit?

  • We explain why an outside test is recommended and give a written estimate.
  • We collect and send the sample.
  • We call you with results and the next step.

What to bring

Bring a short list of food and medications. You do not need old clinic records if we already see your pet here.

Frequently asked questions

If you can’t find what you’re looking for, our support team is always ready to assist you. Your pets health, our priority anytime, anywhere.

Some tests need million-dollar machines and board-certified specialists. While we handle 90% of diagnostics in-house, specialized tests like biopsies, genetic panels, and complex cultures require equipment we’d rarely use and pathologists who’ve spent years perfecting their craft. You get world-class expertise without the world-class price tag.

24-48 hours for most tests. Our partnerships mean priority processing—your samples skip the line. Compare that to 5-7 days if you went direct.

Never. We handle everything. Sample packaging, overnight shipping, tracking, insurance paperwork, specialist consultations all done by us. You get one bill, one phone call (in plain English), one team you trust. No phone trees, no strangers, no hassle.

We only use AAVLD-accredited labs with board-certified specialists. Partners like IDEXX  and Antech employ pathologists who dedicate entire careers to specific tests. Every sample ships overnight in temperature-controlled packaging with full tracking. Their accuracy standards exceed human medical labs.
